Our guided garden exploration days typically run for about 4 hours, including the ferry crossing time and a leisurely 2-hour walk through the gardens. We build in several rest stops along the pathways, so you can enjoy the gardens at a comfortable pace without feeling rushed.

We keep our groups small — between 6 and 12 people maximum. This ensures everyone gets personal attention from our guides and there's plenty of opportunity for conversation and wildlife spotting without feeling crowded.

Not at all. Our harbour walks are designed specifically for active seniors with varying fitness levels. We offer routes of different lengths — from gentle 2-mile strolls to more leisurely 4-mile options — and you can choose what suits you. We always include benches for rest and move at a pace that lets everyone enjoy the waterfront scenery.

Our three-day retreats combine daily guided walks on Garnish Island and around Bantry Bay, accommodation in a comfortable local guesthouse, all meals, and evening talks about the area's maritime heritage and natural history. You'll also have free time to relax, photograph, or simply sit by the water.

Late spring through early autumn (May to September) offers the most reliable weather and the gardens are at their most colourful. We run year-round experiences though — autumn brings stunning light and fewer visitors, while winter is perfect if you prefer quieter walks without the summer crowds.

Bantry is easily reached by car or bus from Cork (about 90 minutes). The ferry to Garnish Island is a 15-minute crossing from Glengarriff Pier, and we can advise on accessible parking and facilities. Some paths on the island are steep, so we recommend mentioning any mobility concerns when you book so we can suggest the best routes for you.
